1. Company Information
Thanet Electrical Limited is a registered company providing domestic and commercial electrical services across the Isle of Thanet and surrounding areas. Registered address: All Saints Avenue, Margate, Kent, CT9 5FE. Contact: 07553 553 536 | thanet.electrical@outlook.com.
2. Quotations
All quotations are provided free of charge with no obligation. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quoted prices include labour and, where specified, materials. Any additional work discovered during the course of the job will be discussed and agreed with the client before proceeding, with a revised quote provided where necessary.
3. Pricing & Payment
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is due on completion of work unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing for larger projects. We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments (via SumUp). For staged projects, interim payments may be requested at agreed milestones.
Late payment beyond 14 days of the invoice date may incur interest at the rate of 2% per month on the outstanding balance.
4. Scope of Work
All work is carried out in accordance with the latest edition of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), relevant Building Regulations (Part P), and applicable UK health and safety legislation. Thanet Electrical Ltd operates as a lead contractor. Where required, notifiable work is independently inspected and certified by ECA Approved Contractors.
5. Access & Preparation
The client is responsible for providing safe and clear access to the work areas. If access is restricted, additional time or preparatory work may be required, which will be quoted separately. We take all reasonable care to protect your property during the work, including the use of dust sheets and cleaning up upon completion.
6. EICR Certificates
Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) are conducted as an independent assessment of the existing electrical installation. An EICR does not guarantee a satisfactory outcome. If the installation is found to be unsatisfactory, a report detailing the observations and required remedial work will be provided. Remedial work will be quoted separately.
Where the client has engaged us to bring the installation to a satisfactory standard, we will not charge separately for the failed certificate — the final satisfactory certificate will be issued upon completion of remedial works.
7. Guarantees & Warranties
All electrical work carried out by Thanet Electrical Ltd comes with a 12-month workmanship guarantee from the date of completion. This covers defects arising from the quality of our installation work. It does not cover damage caused by third parties, misuse, or general wear and tear. Manufacturer warranties on supplied materials and equipment apply separately and are passed on to the client where applicable.
8. Cancellations
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover lost time and scheduling. For works already commenced, payment is due for all work completed and materials purchased to date.
9. Insurance & Liability
Thanet Electrical Ltd holds public liability insurance. We accept liability for damage directly caused by our negligence during the course of our work. Our liability is limited to the cost of rectifying the damage or the value of the contract, whichever is lower. We are not liable for pre-existing defects in the electrical installation or property, or for consequential losses arising from defects not caused by our work.
10. Materials
Where we supply materials, we use quality products from reputable suppliers. The client may request specific brands or products, which may affect pricing and lead times. Materials supplied by the client will be installed at the client’s risk — we cannot guarantee compatibility or quality of client-supplied materials.
11. Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Client information is used solely for the purpose of providing our services, managing appointments, and issuing certificates and invoices.
12. Complaints
We take all complaints seriously. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us at thanet.electrical@outlook.com or call 07553 553 536. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and work to resolve it promptly.
13. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
By engaging Thanet Electrical Ltd to carry out work, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us before work commences.
