“Honest, reliable, and genuinely cares about doing the job properly.”

My Story

Meet Roy

Director / Lead Electrician

Electrics has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even at seven or eight years old, I was fascinated by how things worked—changing plugs, checking fuses, and rewiring the rewireable fuses in consumer units. That childhood curiosity led me to the Thanet Electronics Club in the early 90s, and in 1994 I earned a City & Guilds in Radio Theory at the University of Kent.

Life took me into the IT sector for a time, where I worked in software development and networking, but the electrical trade was always where I intended to be. About fifteen years ago, I returned to the industry full-time. I spent several years working alongside experienced local firms like DK Electrics and McNally Electrical, gaining hands-on site experience while completing my formal qualifications.

In 2018, I started out as a sole trader under the name Thanet Electrics. As the business grew, I incorporated as Thanet Electrical Limited—a natural evolution that reflects the scale and professionalism of the work I do today. I am a family man, and that perspective influences every job I take on. When I am working in your home or business, I treat the environment with the same care and attention to safety that I would expect for my own family. No shortcuts, just honest work.
